James
Founder & Dog Trainer
James is the founder of Good with Paws and leads the behaviour and training direction of the business. With over five years of professional experience, his approach has been shaped by real-world challenges, structured learning, and a deep commitment to canine development.
His journey began with Frankie, a Siberian Husky living within the family who struggled with engagement, recall, leash control, and reactivity around other dogs. After working with several trainers without achieving lasting results, James committed to independently studying behaviour, structure, and practical training methodologies. That experience became the foundation of Good with Paws.
This passion deepened following the arrival of his own dog, Bob — a Labrador Retriever — which further developed his interest in the Gundog world.
With a background as a professional musician and educator, James has always valued clear communication, patience, and structured teaching. These principles now form the core of his training philosophy.
James specialises in behaviour development, high-drive breeds, and genetics-led fulfilment. He is a Will Atherton Approved Trainer and has completed the LMK9 and Paws-a-Minute Mentorship Programme on two separate occasions, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional development and high standards within the industry.
Claire
Dog Walker
Claire joined Good with Paws after initially becoming a client herself with her dog, Dexter.
At the time, Dexter’s behaviour was challenging, and Claire was close to giving up. Through structured guidance and consistency, both saw significant progress — and it quickly became clear that Claire had natural ability, patience, and a genuine connection with dogs.
Recognising her skill and commitment, she joined the team in August 2023 and has since become a crucial part of Good with Paws. Claire carries out both solo and structured group walks to the high standards the business is known for, maintaining professionalism, safety, and calm handling at all times.
She has completed the LMK9 and Paws-a-Minute Mentorship Programme and continues to attend seminars and professional development events nationwide to expand her knowledge and skills.
